August 2009 - New Website
A new look Parasol website was launched on Tuesday 18 August 2009, with a more up-to-date
design and an improved structure. As well as an enhanced user experience for our
customers, the new website will also provide useful links and information. We will
soon be adding some games to generate more interest.
April 2009 - Fleet Upgrades
As part of our ongoing commitment to service quality, we regularly upgrade our vehicles
to the latest models. Over the previous year we've added or upgraded more than 35
new vehicles.
March 2009 - Driver Health & Safety Training
We recently arranged a Health & Safety training day for our drivers and their managers
at our Head Office in Wembley. The day consisted of 2 sessions and covered such
issues as:
Health and Safety legislation
Preventing accidents and incidents
Identifying hazards and risks
The role of the employee in health and safety
In addition, the course explored common workplace hazards and controls, including:
Fire Safety
Manual handling
Work equipment
Display screen equipment
Violence and aggression
Working at heights
Harmful substances (COSHH)
First aid
Electricity
March 2007 - Parasol adds Vehicle Tracking
To optimise our fleet's productivity we installed a vehicle tracking system to monitor
our vehicles. Each vehicle is fitted with a tracking device which reports a vehicles
location and speed, displaying the data, in real time, on a digital map. From the
data generated for each journey we can analyse our vehicle and driver performance.
This has enabled us to plan routes and our fleet's efficiency, and plan routes,
avoid traffic jams, manage fuel consumption and monitor driving behaviour.
